I wanted to post some last christmas stuff before I totally lose the spirit. It was 72 degrees here today. Not Christmassy at all!
The first is my little village. Very small. 15 years ago, when I was about 20, I bought four cheap, CHEAP little houses with my mom. I've added one since then. The original four are so cute, and they look a lot older than they are. Each year my girls pick out new accessories, like fences, and a skating pond (mirror) etc. I use glitter snow and we have a christmas tree with lights. I love to keep it up as long as there is the possibility of snow. I think my village makes me the most Christmasy of all my decorations.
Next is Lola sporting her reversible cross back 50's style apron. You can't tell but the pattern is Santa heads. Ava has one in the next larger size and I have one in the adult size. I made them all in one weekend. They reverse to plain cranberry/oatmeal stripes which works for valentine's cookies too.
Finally, is a bad photo of some watercolor I was fooling around with from our place in Maine. I was feeling poorly and needed something to lift my spirits. It looks warm and inviting. You can't see the water in the background, but it is there. If it's not mud season, mosquito season, ice season, gnat season, or black fly season-it's great up there! (I forgot lyme ticks...but you can get treated for that now.) Maine deserves it's own post, so I'll get to that, when I have a scanner.
